Install PeopleSync Console and Agent

Installing PeopleSync Console & Agent

The installer needs to be run under an account that is both a local administrator and an administrator of the SQL Server.

1. Start the PeopleSync Backend Installer.
   

2. Select the installation folder.
   

3. Choose all components.
   

4. Enter the database connection. The database will be created by the installer. We assume that you have installed a local SQL Server Express instance named SQLExpress. Therefore, enter Server\Instance as .\SQLExpress.
   Enter PeopleSync as the database name.
   
   

5. Enter the name of the Active Directory group PeopleSync Admins. Group members will be allowed to use the PeopleSync Console. In the Domain field, please enter the Domain’s NETBIOS Domain name. Please create the group before proceeding; otherwise PeopleSync will not work properly.
   
   

6. Enter credentials for PeopleSync Agent's service account. Enter the credentials of the psservice account you have created before. In the Domain field, please enter the Domain’s NETBIOS Domain name.
   

7. Choose the type of LDAP directory you want to use for authentication. In this scenario, choose Microsoft Active Directory.
   

8. Start the installation.

9. After installation has finished, a password must be set which will be used by PeopleSync to encrypt and decrypt sensitive configuration data.
   Please note down the password you chose and enter the same password on all systems where you install either PeopleSync Console or Agent. The password is set with PeopleSync Encryption Configurator, which will be launched by setup.
   

10. Enter an encryption key. It must be at least 8 characters long and should contain mixed-case letters, numbers and special characters.
    

11. In this step, the PeopleSync Encryption Configurator will check if the encryption key can be used to encrypt and decrypt data on the system. The Output should be as shown below.
